A confused and depressed 25-year-old white-collar woman meets a desperate and feeble 38-year-old book critic man. She has talent that makes him jealous, but she doesn't seem to notice it herself. However, the loss of distance makes them eventually become strangers. Five years later, the woman has become a novice writer.
