When teenage siblings Jack and Jessie discover the whereabouts of their missing toys, they climb over the neighbor's fence to retrieve their belongings against their better judgement. Jack discovers strange instruments and a half-built makeshift telescope hiding in the back when he is confronted by the scary neighbor in a gas mask - who turns out to be nothing but a friendly little girl, Zaniah. Zaniah explains herself through a live streaming of a reporter covering the launch of NASA's first colonization shuttle to Mars and points out to the telescope and the ticking clock. Jack and Jessie decide to help Zaniah finish building the telescope before time runs out so they could all see the launch together. What begins as a rescue mission soon turns into a space expedition as they witness the beginning of a new era - Three very different kids brought together by space, by the future and by their love of exploration.
