After the fall of the Berlin Wall, now in his old age, the composer Edward Kazasyan discovers that his late wife, the singer Yana Таранова who survived communist camps, was forced to work for the secret services. Their files in the archives of the State Security and the diary of her childhood reveal the complicated fate of the actress rushing to the big stage and her "second life" imposed by the system.
