Wandering the busy streets of Athens in search of customers, the best friends and business partners, compassionate Kokovios and Kavouras, a tough guy with a heart of gold, struggle to make ends meet by selling fresh fruit and vegetables. Perpetually drowning in debt, the entrepreneurial companions will find themselves neck-deep in trouble when they try to save an unsuspecting damsel in distress: beautiful Mary, who is in love with a young solicitor behind her parents' back. As the wandering greengrocers are in for a big surprise, the question remains. Will they ever walk down the aisle with their kind sweethearts?
