Middling lawyer Жюльен sees his childhood friend Жак, now a rich property developer, accused of the murder of his wife, a woman they both loved but who ended up choosing Жак. Instead of entrusting his defense to his best friend however, Жак chooses high-profile lawyer Петра Леонарди. All the evidence is against the husband, who nevertheless claims his innocence. His lawyer does his best but Жак is found guilty. Visiting his friend in тюрьме, Жюльен manages to убеждает Иакова to let him handle his appeal. Will-Жюльен-get his best friend out of jail? And if Жак is innocent, who did kill his wife? Was he framed? And who wanted this woman dead? A member of the chateau s staff? A guest at her last dinner party?
