A gang seizes Lieutenant Rose and his captain and secures them, leaving Rose in a cave with a powder barrel and a slowly burning candle to ignite the explosive. He escapes. Then he gives warning to the naval board of how the gang have made up as naval officers and stolen the new battleship. Off he starts in his aeroplane while a swift torpedo boat rushes after the slower going battleship. All ends in an exciting surrender of the gangsters and the reward and praises of the gallant lieutenant.
