A documentary that follows the journey of Robert Singleton, a gay man from Appalachia who endured trauma, discrimination, and deep personal loss to become an award-winning artist. From being expelled from art school during a 'gay purge' and misdiagnosed with a mental disorder, to finding equilibrium and joy, Singleton's life is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of creativity. The documentary explores his evolution from conventional landscapes to abstract and ethereal 'light paintings,' reflecting spiritual horizons where earth meets sky, while highlighting the enduring beauty of his home, art, and spirit amidst hardship.
