Jailed captures the life of a character who has been ignored in narratives of Brazilian prisons until today. A character who's life is affected unavoidable in ways by their profession: the jailer. Through the testimony of different generations of correctional officers (retired officers from the time of the massacre of Carandiru, officers who were present in the prison, 2006 rebellions, and active jailers настоящее время) and testimonies from their families, former convicts, and other professionals in the Brazilian prison system, the film погружений into the day-to-day, living experiences of these characters, analyzing and reflecting on an element of Brazilian reality that does not make the headlines.
