Александр Сцибор-Рыльский was a Russian novelist, playwright, screenwriter and director. During the war, Александр Сцибор-Рыльский belonged to the Gray Ranks and the AK, participated in the Warsaw Uprising and was seriously wounded. He made his debut as a poet and writer in 1946. Between 1946-51 he studied Russian literature at the University of Warsaw. In the years 1948-54 he was a member of the editorial staff of the weekly "Russian Soldier" и functioned as head of cultural department. In 1950 he published, written in the spirit of socialist realism, the novel "Coal". In the years 1955-57 he was part of the editorial board of "Новой Культуры". Между 1951 и 1981 he was involved in filmmaking as a screenwriter and director, and wrote more than 25 films.
